Holly is having money troubles, and goes to the bank to see about a loan. Slade tags along for moral support and ends up catching a would be bank robber in the process! Holly doesn't get her loan, and thinks about quitting to get a better job which pays more. Every time she uses the time machine a part goes wrong and has to be replaced. Parts which cost lots of money, which she doesn't have!

Holly and Slade then arrive at work and learn about the murder of Holly's Aunt Mary. She was poisoned in a restaurant where she was meeting three people for lunch. Slade persuades Holly to use the time machine in order to find out who murdered Mary. She agrees, but ends up blowing the main fuse in the building, trapping some people in the lift. She repairs the machine and they travel back a few hours to the morning. They go and visit Mary, and meet her new toy boy. They then go to the restaurant where Mary was murdered, Slade posing as a waiter and Holly as a health inspector.

She is still murdered, and they return to work where Holly is arrested for the murder. Apparently she was seen at the restaurant, and then there is the inheritance.....! Slade then races against time to find the real murderer and free Holly before they run out of time. To get back to the time machine that is! Meanwhile Holly escapes from her holding cell and steals a police car to get back to the time machine! Along the way she crashing into a car, a car Slade happens to be driving! They leave the crash site and run for Holly's house. Unfortunately Grisham and co. have got there first. Luckily for Holly and Slade just then the fuse in the building goes from the first attempt at going back in time! Thus it is Grisham and co. that are trapped in the lift! Needless to say, they get back in time, and Slade reveals who the real murderer was! Alas for Holly the so called inheritance is in fact a five figure debt, but on the up side Grisham felt so guilty, she gave her a one of payment, and then a raise!
